Peer Review Process

Articles submitted for Studium must be original and based on innovative research. All submissions are initially assessed by at least two editors, who decide whether or not the article is suitable for peer review,  in relation to the scope of Studium and the article type. Contributions to Pandora's Box as well as book reviews are evaluated only by the editorial board.

Submissions considered suitable for peer review are assigned to one or more independent external reviewers, who assess the article for clarity, validity, and sound methodology.

In this procedure Studium applies a double blind peer review, meaning that the author's name and affiliation are not made public to the referee or Editorial Board (apart from the Editor-in-chief). The referee's name and affiliation are also not revealed to the author. Based on the reviewer reports the Editor-in-Chief will make a recommendation for rejection, minor or major revisions, or acceptance.
